Reverend Delton Ashburn Sr. was born on November 16, 1957, in Franklin, Virginia, to Eleanor Tropier and Issac Ashburn,Jr. He grew up in Newport News, where he was educated in the Newport News Public Schools system.

A proud alumnus of Ferguson High School, he pursued his undergraduate studies at Norfolk State University.

 

Reverend Ashburn is happily married to Dr. Beverly Ashburn, and together they share a loving, blended family of three daughters and one son. He is also a proud grandfather, cherishing the joy of his grandchildren.

Over the years, Rev. Ashburn has faithfully served his church in various roles, including greeter, Sunday School teacher as well as the Sunday School Superintendent.

 

In 1995, he became an ordained deacon. associate minister. 

The call to work in God’s house In 2005, Reverend Ashburn answered his divine call to ministry, a decision that led him to further his theological education at the Friendship Institute of Theology.

 

On December 3, 2011, Rev. Ashburn became an ordained minister.

Today, Reverend Ashburn serves as the assistant pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, where he continues to inspire and lead with unwavering dedication to his faith and community.
